2013 Universiade Kremlin
The international building for the 2013 Universiade will afterwards assimilate all public functions necessary for the future university campus: the central library, restaurants and refectories, expo, fitness centre, multi-cinemas, auditorium, disco, commerce and medical centre.
The different functions are developed around a main gallery which takes part of the campus as conditioned continuation of the main boulevard.
The splitting of the building into different volumes allows on one side to organize separately the management of the different functions and guarantee security control, on the other side to generate the “spine” characterized by a new model of protected public space, as a new central core of the campus.
The external public space is characterized by a mosaic of squares and water spaces which turns into skating rinks during winter time.
