New Civic Center
Nizhnekamsk represents a soviet labour city characterized by the absence of a public centre.
The project defines two extreme poles: on the first side is situated the civic centre, characterized by a big square organized with several administrative buildings and collective offices of the city (municipality, theatre, hotel..); on the other side, eastbound, is located the business forum.
The “spine” embraced between them is organized by buildings of different functions, characterized by a typical basement which contains an infrastructural “ectometric” conditioned system (in order to face the difficult climatic conditions) below which is located a commercial public gallery.
