Universiade 2013 Cores
South core - The 2013 Universiade Village arise with the aim to be transformed into the residential Campus of Kazan University, giving hospitality to almost 12.000 students. It is composed by a mixed grid of streets and green spaces, comprising two strong lines of pre-existing trees. The suggested cell units, exposed to East and West, generates a central interior space which establishes a protected microclimate, face to the difficult local climatic conditions. All housing cells are connected by a footbridge that creates a continuous conditioned walk.
Kaban Lake is the venue for rowing channel facility, where new infrastructure define the bank line on the east side.
North core - Host the New stadium and watersports venue, connected by an interstitial platform which organize public spaces beetween different facilities.
