Verkhnyaya Pyshma, RUSSIA
New Urban Pattern
The City of Verkhnyaya Pyshma was founded in 1930 and its development was produced subsequent to the formation of large metallurgical industry.
During last decades the city had a continuous processof retrofitting (Sport facilities, Church, University ...) which implied an increase in the quality of life, despite the obsolescence of his residential building.
The high degree of urban equipment of Pyshma and the proximity to the metro network of Ekaterinburg, allow thinking in a high urban potential: growth and quality development are the two inseparable components of the new potential, but ‘this symbiosis will be feasible only from a rigorous and flexible Urban
Pattern, able to admit a multitude of different architectural solutions.
The urban project proposed could be defined as a “mosaic of grids.” The repetitive nature of the grid shall not imply architectural monotony, indeed this grid is elastic in the sense of being able to admit various architectural styles and different authors. It must be pointed out that the diversity of styles due to the effect of the cohesion of the grids should not weaken, but reinforce the holistic character of the overall solution.
